Makerere University College of Health Sciences
Seek Wisdom, Elevate your Intellect and Serve Humanity
This project will equip Uganda’s next generation of HIV health care providers as Interprofessional practitioners, with enhanced knowledge and skills that are aligned with PEPFAR Country Operational Plan (COP) and Uganda Ministry of Health (MoH) priorities, upholding the principles of continuous quality improvement (CQI) and continuous learning to provide high quality team-based care for people living with HIV (PLHIV). This training program will be based at MakCHS and will build on existing MEPI and other linkages between Makerere University, Makerere University joint AIDS Program, Uganda AIDS Control Program, Nsambya nursing school, Clarke International University in Kampala as well as Busitema and Kabale universities. We have worked with the leadership of the listed Institutions to select faculty and field site leaders with expertise in HIV care and or training as appropriate. We will organize monthly review meetings to ensure completion of the proposed tasks. The project will harmonize the STRIPE HIV Module with the existing PEPFAR and the Uganda MOH priorities. We will sub grant and support the collaborating Institutions to adapt and adopt the STRIPE HIV module. Training Evaluations will be conducted at the end of each training to guide further edits to the STRIPE module at all collaborating institutions.
