University of Botswana
Exhilarating Learning experience
STRIPE HIV educational materials adapted to the local context will be used to train facilitators from different health disciplines to deliver integrated team training to health professionals before and after graduation. Once trainers are ready, they will train newly qualified health professionals and use feedback from them to adapt the cases in the course to pre-service needs. This new material will then be used to train final year students (medicine, nursing, clinical laboratory, pharmacy, etc.).
Additional teaching materials relevant to Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) and PEPFAR priorities will be created, and used to support and develop skills of early career health professionals to deliver high quality, team-based care in different health facilities where they are most needed in Botswana. These cases will include: HIV care of non-citizen clients, Tuberculosis Preventative Therapy (TPT), Dolutegravir use among women of child bearing age, Engaging men in HIV testing & treatment plus the role of sexuality (especially multiple concurrent relationships) in a predominantly heterosexual HIV epidemic, Use of Botswana Electronic Medical Records (EMR), HIV self-testing.
